First time to the capital. It was a quick trip but a fantastic walk through history. It is hard to be in DC and not feel that you live in the best country on earth.
The memorials, monuments and cemeteries are an awesome reminder of the sacrifice, patriotism and price people have paid to ensure our freedoms today. In the midst of the BBQs, Fireworks, and Fun this 4th of July I encourage everyone to take a moment and remember what we are celebrating. Freedom is often achieved through the sacrifice of others.
